Convenors Report

Firstly may I thank Gordon MacDonald for again being an excellent candidate at the Scottish Parliamentary election. Nobody could have worked harder for us and we are extremely fortunate to have him with us.

May I also thank all our Council candidates and congratulate Alex Mackie on his Provostship, - the only bonus point!!

Lets face it, our results did not do us justice, but we battle on. We are about to embark on a massive membership drive and this should lead to a much stronger Association.

Our outgoing chairman, David Maude, has given relentless effort over the last 3 and a half years and has been much involved in all our activities and was pivotal in keeping us all motivated. We are grateful to him, and also to all of you who gave so generously in many ways.

We must look forward and hope the leadership campaign helps to get over attractive and imaginative ideas to the electorate.
